Good stuff as always WOT. You are the only reason I have a DC sub.
Just wanted to throw this out there and see what you and Chris think...
You mentioned Chris was on a bit of a downswing. It seemed like in this video it's possible he's got some accumulated tilt and he's trying to force things a bit too much (trying to hard to end the pain and get back to winning poker). He opened a little too wide a couple times. Anyway, I could be totally nit picking this, but it's definitely something I used to do until I finally learned that when I'm downswinging hard if I can actually tighten up in those spots a little more than usual I usually can turn things around quicker, get my confidence back, and then open things up a bit more from there.
It's all about finding the sweet spot in the skill/challenge ratio to find flow and play in the zone. When you're downswinging the challenge bar gets raised a bit because of the mental pressures, so in order to stay in the zone I think it's important to do something to lower the challenge/reduce some anxiety so you can perform in the sweet spot zone. I think lopping off the worst hands we'd usually open or playing lower stakes is a great way to do this. Your poker is going to progress much more rapidly the more time you're in flow. So being able to check your ego a bit and be honest with yourself when it's time to do something to lower the challenge is HUGE imo -- if you don't lower it on your own you're really hurting the chances for flow and that's when performance/learning/growth is at it's peak.
